From 2 to 5 July 2024, the international executive search consultancy EO Executives invited its consultants and their teams to the annual EO summer conference. The EO summer conference is the perfect opportunity to exchange experiences, be inspired, make new contacts and catch up with old acquaintances. By the official start of the conference, everyone had noticed: The team of consultants has grown considerably.
This growth was particularly evident on the international stage. The international atmosphere at the conference was clearly noticeable and contagious. The conference participants picked up on this momentum: The summer conference not only confirmed the high level of cross-border cooperation in filling success-critical management positions but also laid the foundation for a new level of international teamwork at EO Executives.
Potsdam, the venue for this year's EO summer conference, is a city of contrasts. On the one hand, Potsdam is located in the immediate vicinity of Berlin, Germany's largest and probably most culturally diverse metropolis, while on the other, Potsdam is known for its closeness to nature and its tranquillity. This duality was perfectly captured by the Inselhotel Potsdam, the location of the summer conference.
The conference was opened by Stephan H. Aschenbrenner, CEO of EO Executives, who not only gave a motivating keynote speech on the past and future development of EO, but also moderated the conference and provided technical support for the internationally connected participants.
The EO team listened to an inspiring presentation by Jens Hofmeister and Maximilian Scheef (Capgemini) with the title "The GenAI-Powered Future of Recruiting". The presentation showed ways in which the new possibilities of artificial intelligence can be profitably integrated into the executive search process.
This programme was rounded off by a presentation entitled "A roadmap to outperform in executive search" by Bob Benson, a successful executive search consultant, who can look back on an international career spanning four decades. Bob Benson emphasised the importance of excellent and confident groundwork in executive search and shared valuable tips from his own experience.
In addition to the stimulating conference programme, the EO summer conference also offered plenty of opportunities to get to know each other better, broaden one's own horizons, and explore opportunities for collaboration.
This included a dinner at the Breton restaurant Pauline in Potsdam as well as the varied sports programme that was offered to the conference participants every morning. In addition to jogging and walking routes for every training level, there was a yoga course and the opportunity to explore the river Havel on a stand-up paddle board. An absolute highlight was the city tour through Potsdam in a historic double-decker bus, which was followed by a convivial barbecue evening.
The 2024 summer conference in Potsdam not only further strengthened the EO network, but also provided new impetus, ideas and opportunities for action. It expressed what makes EO Executives what it is and what has enabled the consultancy to grow so much in the past year: a special combination of professionalism, authenticity, willingness to learn and humanity.
